It's about whatever I am thinking about when I open it up to update. No plan, no idea what will show up- they are my 'thoughts for the day.' Although throughout the course of the day I think about more things then what appears on my blog, for those of you who were questioning my mental acuity.

Not Another Student Poll!!!
I know- sometimes I am indecisive, but I just can't decide how to cut my hair! Currently Paula is up in the polls so I guess Sandra is out but I saw a movie with Kate Beckinsale in it and I thought her hair was really cute! (but no highlights for me) So again I come to those who really care about me- the Jr. Highers!!! I need your help! What do you think now? The Paula, the Sandra, or now the Kate! This time I promise not to add any more celebrity haircuts- just these 3. Click here to see the Paula, and here to see the Sandra.

Marine Corps Ball!!!
We got to go to 2 different ones this year! That was great since Jim has been gone the last 2 years and we hadn't been to a ball since 2003! The first one was in Las Vegas at the Tropicana hotel. After the ball we went to see these dueling pianos. People put in requests and the piano guys sing and play back and forth- its really fun and everyone sings along:)
The second ball we went to was at Pechanga in Temecula. The general was at this ball so there was a live marching band and the ceremony was even grander then normal. We had a great time doing dinner and dancing.
Let me tell you a bit about the ball. It is a party celebrating the Marine Corps birthday- the day and year that they came into exisitence. They start by bringing in the flag with a full colorguard. THe play the National Anthem and the Marine Corps Hymm. The flag is then retired (taken to the back of the room and set in a stand and the cake is escorted in. The senior guy there cuts the cake and a piece is given to the guest speaker, then the oldest Marine present and then the youngest. It's all pretty cool. There is a lot of tradition and symbolism in things. Like they set this table for POW's and MIA's and everything on the table means something from the size of the table to the sliced lemons on a dish- very cool stuff:)
Here is my super cool dress that I got on Sale!!!
We had such a great time!

I will have pictures up soon. Everyone gets dressed to the nines and there is this cool ceremony. Hippies-ness
Wow, ya'll- I can't believe we won!!! What an exciting time! It was so close at the end that I wasn't sure whether we pulled it off or not but somehow we did! And now we get a free trip to magic mountain!!! So awesome! I hope everyone had a fun time- despite the outcome, we knew from the beginning that only one team could win. I just can't believe it was us!
Yay!!!
I liked sporting the sweet tie-dye. How many of you made your own shirts? They looked awesome!!!

Another Student Poll
Ok, so this last weekend I was cleaning my house and watching Miss Congeniality and I realized that I really liked Sandra Bullock's hair in that movie (after her makeover) so now I am torn on which haircut. Since I was an idiot and accidently erased most of my last poll's results about the Paula Abdul haircut, I thought I shoud try again since my mind is at an impasse. So now the question is: 1. go with the Paula Abdul (she has bangs) 2. Go with the Sandra Bullock (no bangs) 3. Leave my hair as is.
Help!!!
ps- for Paula look see Sept 27 Blog.

You won't believe it!!!
"In a zoo in California, a mother tiger gave birth to a rare set oftriplet tiger cubs. Unfortunately, due to complications in thepregnancy, the cubs were born prematurely and due to their tiny size, they died shortly after birth. The mother tiger after recovering from the delivery, suddenly startedto decline in health, although physically she was fine. The veterinarians felt that the loss of her litter had caused the tigress to fall into adepression. The doctors decided that if the tigress could surrogate another mother's cubs, perhaps she would improve. After checking with many other zoos across the country, the depressing news was that there were no tiger cubs of the right age to introduce tothe mourning mother. The veterinarians decided to try something that had never been tried in a zoo environment. Sometimes a mother of one species will take on the care of a different species. The only "orphans"that could be found quickly, were a litter of weaner pigs. The zookeepers and vets wrapped the piglets in tiger skin and placed the babies around the mother tiger. Would they become cubs or pork chops??Take a look........ you won't believe your eyes!!"

Student Poll
Ok ya'll- I need some help. I can't decide how or if I should cut my hair. I am thinking I like Paula Abdul's hair- not the short little pixie thing she had going on but the longer style with the layers? Know what I am talking about? Anyway- what do you think- should I go for that cut, leave my hair the way it is (I have layers now but its more towards the end of my hair), or let it grow really long and get rid of the layers? Leave a comment and let me know!!! Thanks!
Here is a picture of my hair currently:
Travis part 3
What is funny about this is that there is no one in the pool but Travis. It was the last round and it took forever for Trav to finally get caught so he would have to be it. So we decided to pull a little prank on him and the rest of us got out of the pool. So he is jumping and splashing around trying to tag us but there is no one in there. Just watch- it's pretty funny. He finally opened his eyesand was like "you guys" but he knows it was all in fun:)
For old funny pictures of Trav check out the June blogs and the November blogs in to the left.

Optical Illusions, part deux
I love Optical Illusions- they are so cool!!! I actually wrote a blog about them before (part 1), you can check it out if you like under my June blogs. Anyway, I have some new ones that are pretty nifty. Have fun twisting and tweaking your sense of reality. Just goes to show you can't always trust you eyes!
If you take a look at the following picture , it is not animated. Your eyes are making it move. To test this, stare at one spot for a couple seconds and everything will stop moving. Or look at the black center of each circle and it will stop moving. But move your eyes to the next black center and the previous will move after you take your eyes away from it. You can see the illusion better if you click on the image to make it larger:)
Are the purple lines straight or curved?
Click on this one to make it larger as well- works better!

Dirty Feet
I can't stand having dirty feet. I mean I can put up with it for awhile and I enjoy dirty activities- like mud day at Camp Sugarpine, but I don't like my feet to stay that way. In fact I can't sleep if my feet are dirty. There is just something that drives me nuts about even the thought of sticking dirty feet under the sheets- ugh! At Whitewater I would have my wet wipes right by my bed so that at night, when I was ready to get in my sleeping bag I could sit on my bed and wipe my feet down pretty well before sticking them in bed. At home even, if I feel my feet are dirty I will stick them in the sink and wash them off. I've been told it is kinda a funny sight, me standing at the sink washing first one foot then the other. But oh, as that water and soap runs over my foot taking off all the dirt and grime from walking around a dirty environment, it feels just heavenly and I can sleep in peace.

Happy 4th!!!
I love fireworks- they are so great! I always feel so patriotc when I am wearing red, white, and blue, listening to "God Bless America" as the fireworks are perfectly synchonized with the music. It's so cool. I feel like a little kid again.
Not to take away from the 4th because I love celebrating our independence day- wonder how BBQ became the official food of 4th of July. Like turkey at Thanksgiving, you have to BBQ on the 4th of July. Anyway, that is a total tangent- but back to what I was saying. . . not to take away form the 4th but I must say that Disneyland's 50th Anniversary Celebration fireworks show is the most spectacular I have ever seen. Just had to throw that in there:)

Where did June go?
I just wanted to throw the eagle picture in my blog because I think it is really cool and really patriotic for the fourth.
This other picture I will have to explain. First, we had mild thunderstorms today after an insanely hot weekend. What is up with the weather!?! The thing that is driving me nuts is that I don't know because I don't have the weather channel anymore. Yes, I know, I am a geek- I love the weather channel. (to find out more about the weather channel check my November blogs) In fact I don't have cable at all right now and what I miss the most isn't saturday morning cartoons or CSI, it is the weather channel. Pathetic. Anyway this is a cool shot of some crazy weather so there it is.

Optical Illusions Part 1
I love optical illusions. I find it so fascinating and such a good reminder that we can't always trust our eyes. These few pics I have today are just a couple of the optical illusions that I have. I find these sidewalk painting to be really fun though. You see it is all a matter of perspective.
Life is so often like that. As Christians we get angry, feel hurt, or are afraid of what other people say they believe. We shouldn't though. We have the truth of the Bible which we can look through to then see truth. We don't have to be afraid or angry about things that come up in our culture. We just need to realize that people who aren't Christians don't see things the same as us. They can't. Until they accept Jesus into their lives they have spiritual blinders on as it were. We see things with Jesus, they have to look at the world without Him inside of them. They will have a very different perspective. I'm not saying we should keep this an "us vs. them" sort of thing, no way! God wants everyone to see things in the light of His truth. I'm saying that we as Christians don't have to be afraid of what others say and we need to be patient with people who don't know the truth- they can't see God's truth because their perspective if off- like looking at one of these pictures sideways. Becasue it really is all a matter of perspective.

Mobster Spirit
I must say- I am so impressed with the Mobsters! I gotta give a shout out. They wrote me a little book and had a bunch of Mobsters sign it. They filled a basket with everything blue, from birthday candles to painted popsicle sticks. A today, what do I find in my Inbox? A poem written to me from the Mobsters. Keep up the spirit- you are doing great! Keep it up for next week and you can win Spirit again!!!! And all you other teams- get the spirit going like the Mobsters and next week will truly be a battle for the Spirit Sword!!!
