God's Love

Hello ever-ree-body! Hope all is well. Things are going good for me. I just want to share this super sweet poem that some of the girl small groups will be going over tomorrow night. Unfortunately I don't know who wrote it, so I can't give props to whomever that may be, but they took ideas from passages of scripture and wrote out a poem as if God had written it to women. I love it! I have totally used it before and will continue to do so because it is so cool. Let me know what you think- what stands out to you, what parts speak to you, whatever- can't wait to hear some responses:)

Here it is:

I Made Her
Because I Love Her

I made her . . . She is different, She is unique, With love I formed her in her mother’s womb. I fashioned her with great joy. I remember, with great pleasure, the day I created her. (Psalm 139:13-16)

I love her smile, I love her ways, I love to hear her laugh, And the silly things she says and does. She brings Me great pleasure. This is how I made her. (Psalm 139:17)

I made her pretty and not beautiful, Because I knew her heart, And knew she would be vain . . . I wanted her to search out her heart, And to learn that it would be Me in her That would make her beautiful . . . And it would be Me in her That would draw friends to her. (1 Peter 3:3-5)

I made her in such a way, That she would need Me. I made her a little more lonesome Than she would like to be . . . Only because I need for her to lean and depend on Me . . . I know her heart, I know if I had not Made her like this, She would go her own chosen way And forget Me . . . her Creator. (Psalm 62:5-8)

I have given her many good and happy things Because I love her. (Psalm 84:11, Romans 8:23)

Because I love her, I have seen her broken heart . . . And the tears she cried alone. I have cried with her, And had a broken heart, too. (Psalm 56:8)

Many times she has stumbled And fallen alone Only because she would not hold My Hand, So many lessons she’s learned The hard way. Because she would not listen To My voice . . . (Isaiah 53:6)

So many times I have sat back And sadly watched her go Her merry way alone. Only to watch her return to My arms, sad and broken. (Isaiah 62:2)

And now she is Mine again . . . I made her, and then I bought her . . . Because I love her. (Romans 5:8)

I have to reshape her and remold her . . . To renew her to what I had planned for her to be. It has not been easy for her, Or for Me. (Jeremiah 29:11)
I want her to be conformed to My image . . . This is the high goal I have set for her, Because I love her. (2 Corinthians 2:14)

Wedding Bells have Rung!!!

Jim and I tied the knot on March 19th. It was so fun- we had such a great time at our wedding and I wanted to share some pics from it with you!

I had a reception here at TNL for you gals but I know not all of you could make it so I wanted to share some moments with you from our special day.

Here I am before the ceremony in the room us gals got ready in.

This is me and my sweetie! I think I told you he is a Marine. For the wedding he wore his dress uniform. It's the equivalent of a tuxedo and he looked like Prince Charming!

This is us with the wedding party- a conglomeration of some family members and some really close friends. 2 of the guys are in Marine uniforms, like Jim's but with the blue pants instead of white, one is in an Air Force uniform and 1 guy in in a regular tux. The girls are in all the same dresses, except my sis whose dress is a little different becasue she was the maid of honor. She's the one to the left of me.

This is the actual wedding! The pastor, Jeff, is just behind Jim. I don't remember exactly what he is saying when this pic was taken but our ceremony was beautiful!

This is our first dance. The song we picked was "Brighter then Sunshine" by Aqualung. The words meant a lot to us. Look it up on a lyrics website- actually you have probably heard it before. Click here to listen to it. If you know me you know I really like jazz and that classic big band era type sound. I wanted to do a song by Etta James or Dean Martin, but it was hard to find one I liked that someone hadn't already used before or it seemed the words weren't quite right. I heard "Brighter then Sunshine" on the radio and shared it with Jim and he really liked it. I think it will be a new classic- the words are wonderful and it has a haunting-type melody, one that sticks with you.

After the wedding ceremony we had a cocktail hour that had yummy hors o'duerves (its a french thing- if you can't read it pronounce it or-derves) and we had this cute video Travis put together that showed me and Jim from babies to where we are now. After that we went into the reception- had some delicious dinner and it turned into a party! So fun, so much dancing and good times. You should recognize some of these crazy party people!

Remember girls- it is so important to wait for the one you love, the one God will bring into your life. You have plenty of time. I mean wait for it all and save as much as possible- hand holding, kissing, snuggling, hugging- all the things you want to do with guys wait to do it until it is with the man you marry- otherwise you'll just wish you had saved all that stuff for him. If you missed our guy panel at TNL this last week, and even if you didn't, make sure you come on the 25th- its the last small group- don't miss out!!!
